O camu-camu (Myrciaria dubia (H.B.K.) McVaugh, Myrtaceae) é uma fruteira nativa que ocorre nas margens de rios e lagos inundáveis da Amazônia, e está sendo domesticada visando o cultivo em terra firme. O alto teor de ácido ascórbico nos frutos, cerca de 2.800 mg.100g-1 de polpa, fortalece a demanda para consumo no país e exportação. No período de 1997 a 1998, investigou-se a biologia floral e fenologia reprodutiva do camu-camu, em plantios da Embrapa Amazônia Oriental, em Belém, e em áreas de ocorrência natural, em Santarém e Oriximiná, no Estado do Pará, norte do Brasil. The objectives of this work were to determine the squash entomofauna in the region of Viçosa, Minas Gerais state, to study their behavior on flowers and their importance for pollination, verifying the role of each pollinator. The most common species were Trigona spinipes (Fabricius), Trigona hyalinata (Lepeletier), Apis mellifera (L.) and Melipona quadrifasciata (Lepeletier). The visitation behavior of A. mellifera, M. quadrifasciata, and Bombus morio (Swederus) were similar. Pollination and dispersal systems in a Cerrado remnant (Brazilian Savanna) in Southeastern Brazil BABT

The aim of this work was to identify the pollination and dispersal systems among the species in a disjunct marginal cerrado area and to compare the frequency of these systems to those found in other Neotropical vegetation. The floral and diaspore traits and the pollination and dispersal systems of 176 species were analysed in a cerrado remnant in Southeastern Brazil. The most frequent pollination system was melittophily (63% of the studied species) with the remaining 37% distributed among diverse pollination systems. Pollination of Peltogyne chrysopis: an endemic tree of the Atlantic Forest Acta Botanica

ABSTRACT Peltogyne chrysopis is an arboreal legume endemic to the Atlantic Forest and known only from the state of Bahia, Brazil. Focal observations were made of anthesis, pollen availability, stigma receptivity, nectar production, and the presence of osmophores and UV-reflective pigments for the species. Floral visitors were also observed and classified based on the timing and frequency of their visits and their foraging behavior. The breeding system was inferred from the pollen-ovule ratio and pollen tube growth after pollination treatments. Reproductive biology of Pseudolaelia corcovadensis Porto & Brade (Orchidaceae): melittophyly and self-compatibility in a basal Laeliinae Rev. Bras. Bot.

The floral biology, mating systems and phenology of Pseudolaelia corcovadensis (Orchidaceae), in the "Estação de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Ambiental de Peti", São Gonçalo do Rio Abaixo, Minas Gerais state was studied. This species flowers from April to September, with a higher availability of flowers in June and July. The flowers are dark-pink, strongly zygomorphic, and have osmophores and nectar-guides absorbing ultraviolet light. However, the flowers of P. corcovadensis do not present nectar and are pollinated by Bombus (Fervidobombus) atratus Franklin, 1913 (Hymenoptera: Apidae) by deceit. In this work we hypothesised that Solanaceae species composition and pollination and seed dispersal syndromes change according to the degree of disturbance. Hence, the aim of this study is to analyze how the species composition of Solanaceae changes along disturbance gradients of mountain cloud forest, and to establish how Solanaceae pollination and seed dispersal syndromes vary along the same gradients.
